The Author

Lately I’ve been calling myself a cultural producer for lack of a better term. I’m located in Vancouver, BC. My practice is often in the areas of graphic design, marketing/communications, web design, research, writing, and wandering around looking at things. I’m a grad of Emily Carr University, in the Communication Design department. I have passports from 2 countries and will acquire a 3rd when I get the paperwork together. I really, really like contemporary art, magazines, and living in cities. The internet and I grew up together. I ride my bike everywhere, but I also really like public transportation. In the summer of 2007 I worked for British Columbia’s provincial transit authority (BC Transit) in their design and marketing department. I believe in alternative transportation, I never learned how to drive a car. I fall in love with cities, I read a lot of books. I am passionate about social justice. I believe that both the government and you and I have roles to play in creating equitable, healthy communities.

This blog is a collection of thoughts and research relating to urban space, its design, and human interaction within it. This was my spring 08 grad project, but it is ongoing and continuing to sprawl out further all the time. You can leave comments here, find me on facebook, or email me (kblank -at- kblank -dot- com). My portfolio is at kblank.com
